Improving Little Lives
New Promotional Video released 8th March 2023
The Connie Medical Chair is designed to improve the quality of life, well-being and rehabilitation of young children in intensive and palliative care. The chair has been designed to be used in paediatric beds to offer sit up and play time for children aged 8 months to 4 years, supporting Early Mobilisation and Rehahbilitation (ERM)*. Born out of personal experience of losing a child in intensive care, Russ and Vikki Banner are fundraising to get several chairs into each paediatric hospital and hospice in the UK for free.

The Need
Over 20,000 children are admitted into intensive care each year, and a large portion have life limiting conditions, one study puts it at 57%**. The majority are under the age of 1 (around 600 admissions per month), followed by under 2's (150 per month), followed by under 3's (75 per month). That's 9900 children aged 1-3. You can help us support parents and nursing staff by improving their quality of life and rehabilitation by donating. There is no current seat that works within the paediatric cot bed that allows children to sit up and play, as well as improve their recovery post-surgery. Please help us today.

I am so sorry for your loss xxx What an amazing way to honour the memory of your beautiful little girl. My son was a newborn when he had his first heart surgery at the Evelina but I know he would benefit greatly from the Connie Chair in the period after his next surgery. This is truly an amazing idea, thank you for your hard work and dedication to helping other children in similar situations to Connie xxx
